I is still alive.

Just extremely busy now that school is back in full swing. I'm either braindead, working, or working braindead.

I still draw, but I post little of it. :B
Not to mention that a lot of the drawing is drawing class related, but if anyone is still interested, I might post those...

Just went to a concert in a teahouse last night; it was a reggae group and a rock group and we had much fun dancing around (and swinging lethal scarves). X3

Well, that's about all that's coming to mind right now. See ya on the flip side. =P

Tag and a Ramble

Fri Aug 10, 2007, 11:24 PM
Felt the need to do a new entry... and to do a tag before I totally forget to. ^^;

Man, summer has flown by, and barely a drawn thing. At least barely a drawn thing here; sketched some, but I found myself constantly frustrated by the messiness of my room. Nope, it never did get fully cleaned and now I'm moving things out of it. XD

Lessee... point of interest... well, my harddrive broke and it set me free. Photoshop also loads in about 1/5 of the old time now, so I'm actually really pleased that so much of the clutter is gone out of that. The things I really wanted had been archived. =) Now if only I had the will to sell more books... =/

Birthday came and went. Went inflatable kayaking for it and had tons of fun, despite falling out and having issues getting back in. X)

Now on to the tag! :P

1. What time is it?
Currently 11:39.

2. What is your full name?
To pronounce it correctly... I would have to pull out your tongue.

3. What are you most afraid of?
Chernobyl maybe? Though definately not in the way a normal person would think.

4 . What is the most recent movie that you have seen in a theatre?
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Before that, Ratatouille.

5. Have you ever seen a ghost?
Nope. Kinda thankful, kinda wishing I would.

6. Where were you born?
One of the smoggier parts of SoCal.

7. Ever been to Alaska ?
Been to Canada, not Alaska; would love to go. ;)

8. Ever been toilet papering?
Yes, and we were ambushed by super-soakers!

9. Loved someone so much it made you cry?
Yes.

10. Been in a serious car accident?
Thankfully, nope. The little ones startle me enough.

11. Do you plan to have children?
Not currently.

12. Favorite day of the week?
Friday night and Saturday morn. Best time to cut loose and do whatever I want. =)

13. Favorite restaurant?
Casa Molina. Carné Seca to kill for, hence the carné.

14 . Favourite flower?
Lavender.

15. Favourite colour?
Purple. Sometimes green.

16. Favourite sport to watch?
Sumo. I've barely watched it, but have had such a blast.

17. Favourite drink?
Weird, specialized coffee and good iced tea.

18. Are you a morning or night person?
A night person moving to an earlier bird schedule. Slowly, but it is working. =)

19. Favourite fast food restaurant?
In-N-Out, hands down.

20. What colour is your bedroom carpet?
A light brown that has black trackings all over it for existing through most of my life.

21 . How many times did you fail your driver's test?
Quit reminding me! ;o; Well, I haven't even taken my driver's test, but I haven't failed the permit tests as of yet.

22. Before this one, from whom did you get your last email?
Dunno, I haven't set up my mailbox after the switched drives. o.o

23.What do you do when you are bored?
Sleep, jump outside... I'll sometimes get ideas for storylines. I really should write them down more often. :P

24. Bedtime?
Lately between midnight and 2am.

25. Who will respond to this the quickest?
Not sure... at a guess, I'll say Gunner, then Poofiemus. But now that you know my guess, is it really going to happen? =P

26. Who is the person you sent this to that is least likely to respond?
Any person who has watched me but has never commented. What reason to comment now? =P (edit: My bad. Misread. I think the people I've tagged both have a decent chance of responding... =/ )

27. Who is the person that you are most curious to see their answers?
It's a seeekwet!

28. Favourite TV show?
I've caught the Scrubs bug. :3

29. Ford or Holden?
Interesting.... I'll say Holden.

30. What are you listening to right now?
...Why am I in silence? *puts on Mercan Dede* Su!

31. How many pets do you have?
Just one ferret. More than enough. X3

32. Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
As much as I love envisioning the world with multicolored, multisized eggs, I'm gonna say clamshell.

33. What would you like to accomplish before you die?
Possibly to figure out what the heck I'm saying, what God is actually saying... and to have fun. And to draw.

35. What do you regret that you may have done in your life?
The fact that I can't understand Spanish.

36. Did you notice that number 34 was gone?
Only once this question was asked.

As for tagged people, I shall tag :iconpoofiemus: and hmm... :iconbeeg: Though anyone who wants to do it should just go ahead and do it. T'was fun. XP

Dudes and Dudettes!

Mon Jun 25, 2007, 1:48 AM
Well, I'm just first going to get this out of the way. I'm doing challenges for a Konami website and need people out there to click this link:
Castlevania PSP Opening Cinematic

It's an opening trailer for a Castlevania game, and after watching it, I've decided it looks pretty cool (wewt, bat transformations!). I haven't really played Castlevania, save for the old arcade one, but that trailer does pique my interest. Ashame it's PSP only and not DS. I have no money for another system right now. ^^;

I've finally beaten the main part of Lunar Knights, but still need to beat the Vanbury... but now I feel like I can do a few things. One, move onto a few other games (like Starfox DS, which I've had longer than Lunar Knights and still yet to beat) and two, I feel a bit better about doing fanart for it, now knowing just about all the stuff that has happened in there. In short, I have less to fret about breaking canon.

*looks back up at the link* ...Actually, a friend of mine has been wanting me to try Castlevania. I may just go get one of the re-releases, 'cause I know I saw one... =/

Well, the past week has been pretty interesting. I've been having difficulty securing a ride to the Anime Expo, so instead I joined my brother and a few friends on a random trip to Las Vegas. It was really fun, though as Vegas is, really expensive. It made me wish I had a job so I didn't feel like so much dead weight. Don't get me wrong though, we did have a ton of fun. I have a few photos from there to get up, so bug me if you're interested in seeing them. It'll hopefully get me of my lazy butt quicker. =)

Anyway, while in Vegas, we went to see "Tournament of Kings" at Excalibur. We were in the France section and started to make jokes about how France never wins (If you don't understand why we were poking France, type "French Military Victories" into google and press "I'm feeling lucky". If you're still offended, don't be. One of my biggest bloodlines is French. XD ) Anyway...

France won. We were in shock and awe. Until our dude got killed dramatically in the big battle where everyone died. He got his throat sliced and it made us fangirls squee in pain. X3

The next day, we went to M&M world. I like M&M's, but I'm not a memorabillia fan of it, so we eventually made our way to the Gameworks where they had arcade versions of Mario Kart and TONS of other games. I was really hoping to see Prop Cycle, but didn't see it anywhere. Oh well. Me and the other girl on the trip migrated over to the Coca-cola factory. We stared around for a few minutes until we decided to get a drink. They had the normal floats and soda, but they also had an international flavors one. We went in and split an order.

We managed to start a trend. Nobody was drinking those things before us, but afterwards, all the tables started filling up with trays of multicolored sodas. We both liked one soda called "Stony Ginger Beer" from South Africa. It just tasted really different. Worst tasting one on the trays was definitely "Beverly" from Italy. It is probably also one of the most terrible things I have ever tasted, no joke. One of the guys in our group came up and asked us what the worst one was, we immediately pointed at number 7, "Beverly". He took it and got through about... 3 medium gulps before setting it down and saying quietly that he couldn't drink anymore of it. XD

We were finally told by a woman who worked there that Beverly is not drunk alone, it's actually used in mixed drinks! So... I mixed together a few of the sodas with a little of Beverly and got something with a slightly bitter aftertaste that was kind of interesting. :3

...By the way, can anybody tell me why our Mello Yello was red? I still don't get that.

We then ran off to a Lance Burton show (very cool magician). Great show, but I kind of suck at describing those, methinks. Anyway, 'twas cool, worth seeing, though best seen when not drowsy. X3

I'm strongly considering uninstalling my IM services. I spend more time than I mean to on them and it keeps my fingers too busy when I should be drawing stuff. On the other hand, even if I do actually do that, I have Skype, an audio chatting program. Usable mics (for those who don't have one) are generally pretty cheap, so I may get myself to move over there totally at some point to free up my hands for artwork. It also works on any of the three main OSes (Linux, Mac, Windows) and is no charge to contact other people with Skype, so it's a pretty good deal, so long as the sound quaility is good enough (working on that).

It's late. I really should be sleeping now. Or two hours ago, ne?
See y'all later =)

This is a rambling journal. O:

But most of the time it is anyway, soooo...

Fish and chips from pubs are good. They have a light crispiness that I don't get in the frozen schtuff. :D
Not to mention the fact that it just tastes better.

Finally got around to beating the Duke in Lunar Knights. Was fun, but I still gotta figure out the right way to dodge all those attacks... Yes, I berserked in with Aaron and Lucian. :3
I'm kind of hoping I can get my brother to play it as everyone else as of this moment close by either doesn't have a DS or doesn't seem to be interested; I'd really like to try multiplayer with someone.

Over the last few days I remembered this one guy whom I wasn't very happy with. He got commisioned to do work for a place that I was otherwise going to do the work for; and nope, that's not why it bothers me. He didn't get the piece to them even after he had been payed a pretty good amount. Last I had heard (when the business shut down) he still hadn't supplied the work. It upset me because I felt like that person helped in causing the owner to lose what little drive he had left to keep the business open. I went to the board for a comic book he was doing, and found in his updates that one of his relatives had died in the past couple months (don't remember which). That seemed to give me an understanding of why his work wasn't happening (though he was failing to contact the owner over the delay).

I checked his board again recently and found that it had shut down. I found what appears to be his DA page and if it was, he appears to have been severely depressed and offended at people critiquing (maybe criticizing, I don't know) his work. I felt a bit saddened at the fact that he had let himself slip that far. Even though I wasn't fond of him, I was kind of sad that he'd seemed to have given up from what I could find...

I checked the website of the business that had shut down, as the owner was still selling items before and after the time of the store. I can't find it anymore. I don't know whether it has shut down entirely or if it did (a second) name change. I know that the owner would sell his wares at anime conventions, which is another reason I really want to go to one this year. I'd like to see how he's doing...
...I admit, if it was at all possible, I wish he'd give the store another shot. There were many many things that could have been done to improve it.

I actually found someone last night that knew who this artist was and I understand now that I got no reason to feel any remorse over this artist. It turns out the guy acts like a real hotshot and has deserted panels and lashed out and been an all around jerk. It's understandable if a person gets really upset when they lose someone, but that doesn't excuse them from being a decent person; even more so when the death occured quite a while ago now... I'm sorry if this all sounds really heartless, but I don't think someone has the right to treat people poorly regardless of what else might be happening in their life right now...
I'm not even sure if that's the reason he's acting that way... it's not right either way.

...I still want to find the guy who ran the store... *sighs*

Huh! I gave a search for his alternate name and found a business! In the same general sort of area too... though for all I know, it may also have closed a while ago. Frankly, the area that he picked (if it is in fact him) seems to have been a poor choice... Seems more out of the way than the first...

I went to the high school graduation last night and had food and stuff with a couple of my friends. Been waaay too long since I've last done that. It was a lot of fun. I wanna do it again. :3
Oh, and we started doing really bad "Yo Mama" jokes. We succeeded in scarring ourselves! \o/

I've also really gotten into Norwegian music over the last couple days (traditional music, not rock). So... now, since most people are confident I can still worm my way into Japanese (still full)... I might try and study Norwegian a little bit this summer. =)

...And I wanna mess around and try a Hardingfele (Hardanger fiddle). XD
Actually, I'd settle for a violin right now, but it looks like my old fiddle was given to Goodwill. Not a huge loss, the violin was frankly of terrible quality, but now I'll have to save up for a new one if I want to play it again.

Hardanger fiddles are expensive! They aren't mass-produced like most of the other instruments and are instead made by hand. An article gave the least expensive estimate for a student-level Hardingfele at $800 in 1992 and says that it has risen in price since then. Professional models can run anywhere from about $3000 to $5000. Violins can be modified to be like Hardingfele, but quality is sacrificed. At least a person can be sure that when they request a Hardingfele from a maker, they do indeed know what they are doing. A company in the midwest has its patrons choose the wood type and the sort of ink work and such. It's really cool...

I took care of my nephew earlier today. It took him a while to sleep (he's ill) and then he woke up a good while later really upset. He wanted his mum. =(
We sat outside for a little and he calmed back down. It was really nice out there. Got to listen to the birdies...
It was a good break for the parents though, so I was happy to do it for them.
And my nephew, even when upset, is cute so it's worth it. ^.^

Well, I'm about done eating my dinner so I think I close this journal for now.
Peace! :D

Ah! Almost forgot I wanted to start putting this stuff!
